PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air suspension or a front fork allowing suppression of increase of air reaction in a latter half position of a compression stroke, and allowing reduction of the air reaction in the air suspension compared to that of the compression stroke when the air suspension extends from the sinking position. SOLUTION: In an inverted type front fork 10 of this air suspension, an inner tube 2 is inserted in an outer tube 1 through upper and lower bushes 7, 4, while an annular gap S1 is formed among the inner tube 2, the outer tube 1 and the upper and lower bushes 7, 4. A tube-like partition member 37 for partitioning an upper gas chamber into a gas chamber C1 inside the partition member 37 and a gas chamber C2 outside it is provided within the front fork 10. The inner tube 2 is axially formed with an upper communicating hole 45 and a lower communicating hole 46 for communicating the inside and outside gas chambers C1, C2 through the annular gap S1. The upper communicating hole 45 of the two communicating holes 45, 46 is formed in a latter half stroke position.
