PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail cleaning device which can easily sweepingly remove even dried deposit or wet deposit, and can easily judge the degree of wear and tear of a brush member to easily replace the brush member, and the various brush members changeable according to properties of the deposit. SOLUTION: This is a rail cleaning device fitted to a running body M running on a rail R, together with running of the running body, cleaning the rail while moving on the upper face of the rail. In this case, this device comprises a fitting plate 1 fixed to the running body, a brush plate 3 vertically rotationally movably held with the fitting plate through connecting members, and a brush member B fitted to the brush plate, and while pressing the brush member against the upper face of the rail by dead weight of the brush plate 3 and the brush member B, deposit on the upper face of the rail is removed.
