PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake capable of precluding excessive plastic deformation even in the case a pad spring is fitted in an improper attitude, and of stabilizing the attitude after fitting. SOLUTION: A disc brake has a pad spring 50 attached to a recess in calipers, and one of the engaging pawls 56 of the pad spring 50 is arranged so that its easy-to-deform direction differs from the pressing direction when the pad spring is attached to the recess. Thereby a condition is generated such that the pawl 56 is abutted to one side face of the recess in the calipers, and when the pad spring 50 is pressed toward the inner surface, the pawl 56 deforms in a direction differing from the pressing direction even in the case fitting in the recess occurs in an improper attitude, and the pad spring 50 returns easily to the proper attitude.
