PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution and suppress the brake squeal by providing a flexible abutment part abutting on a brake pad and forming a groove in the abutment part. SOLUTION: A shim is provided with a metal plate 11 such as a stainless steel, etc., a first rubber film 12 coated on a face in the side opposite to the pad and having flexibility, and a second rubber film 13 coated on a face in the side opposite to a claw part of a slide cylinder and having the flexibility, and defines grooves 12a, 13a on the abutment surface with the claw part of the rubber films 12, 14 or a piston. The rubber film 12 is easily deformed in the perpendicular direction to the extension direction of the groove 12a and in the parallel direction to the abutment surface with the pad of the rubber film 12 so that the generation rate of the brake squeal can be reduced. The rubber film 13 suppresses the vibration of the pad from transmitted to a caliper claw or the piston, which can reduce the generation of the brake squeal further.
