PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for reinforcing existing floor slab which can keep the space between an upper side steel plate and a lower side steel plate proper without a process to adjust the dimensions of bolts. SOLUTION: This device comprises a first steel plate 2 to be mounted on the lower face of an existing floor slab 1, a second steel plate 3 to be mounted on the upper face of the existing floor slab 1, a first bolt 4 and a first nut 5 to hold and fasten the first steel plate 2 from the directions opposite to each other and a second bolt 6 and a second nut 7 to hold and fasten the second steel plate 3 from the directions opposite to each other. Then, the device is also provided with a double-end stud wherein a screw thread to be threaded in the first nut 5 is provided at one end and a screw thread to which an inverse screw is formed to be threaded into the second nut 6 is provided at the other end.
