PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a leather like sheet having a high grade appearance not having a flicker feeling, and further excellent in ventilation and moisture permeability by temporarily fixing a polyurethane fiber nonwoven fabric on a base substrate layer consisting of a fiber-interlaced non-woven fabric and an elastic polymer through a polyurethane resin discontinuously and then heating and compressing them. SOLUTION: This leather like sheet is obtained by impregnating an elastic polymer solution such as a polyurethane on a fiber-interlaced nonwoven fabric having 1.0-3.0 mm thickness and obtained by a needle-punching treatment of a very fine fiber-forming type fiber consisting of a combination of a polyamide/polyethylene, etc., performing a coagulation treatment, then de-foaming treatment to obtain a sheet consisting of the very fine fiber interlaced non-woven fabric and the elastic polymer, then temporarily fixing a polyurethane fiber non-woven fabric having 5-125 g/m2 unit weight on the above sheet with a polyurethane resin discontinuously, compressing them with a fluorine resin-coated heating roll A at a temperature lower than the softening point of the above polyurethane resin and then compress-treating them with a heating roll B having a higher surface temperature than that of the above roll A by >=20 deg.C at 10-100 kg/cm2 pressure.
