PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely and efficiently removing scale deposited on home appliances without rubbing them. SOLUTION: Scale is dissolved and removed with a scale cleanser containing malic acid. When applied under a boiling condition, generated pressure enables scale to be dissolved and removed without rubbing. The concentration of malic acid is preferably in the range of 3-50 wt.%.
