PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has excellent resistance against melt sticking of a toner and which can be easily produced by forming a rapidly cooled coating film containing a specified resin or the like as the surface layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The surface layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor consists of a rapidly cooled coating film containing at least one kind of resin and a charge transfer material. The resin is selected from a group of a resin having the structural unit expressed by the formula and having 7.5×103 to 3.7×104 weight average mol.wt. and a polycarbonate resin having 7.5×103 to 3.7×104 weight average mol.wt. The resin expressed by the formula or the polycarbonate resin preferably has 37,000 to 300,000 mol.wt. of the resin, and more preferably has 45,000 to 250,000 weight average mol.wt. The content of a charge producing material included in the surface layer is preferably <50 wt.% to the total solid content. If necessary, other resins or additives such as a lubricant and antioxidant may be added to the surface layer.
