PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fill the void part of a printed picture by generating an astigmatism in a projection lens system, exposing photographic paper in a state where a spot is oval, and deviating it by a specified distance in the minor axis direction of the oval, thereby exposing it again. SOLUTION: A lens having an astigmatism by which a spot of an image- formation part on the photographic paper becomes oval with the carrying direction of the photographic paper as the minor axis direction is used as a projection lens. If the pitch dimension P of an exposure dot D is 80μm, for example, the photographic paper is carrigd by 1/2 P, that is, 40μm in the minor axis direction of the oval, and then the same image exposure is performed again. By performing the exposure in a state where the spot of the image-formation part is oval, a void part in the major axis direction of an oval spot on the photographic paper is eliminated. By deviating the photographic paper by 1/2 of the pitch dimension P in the minor axis direction of the oval spot and performing the exposure again, the void part in the minor axis direction of the oval spot is eliminated.
