PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of operation of a shift register by preventing a punch-through malfunction from occurring in the shift register composed in a scanning line or a signal line driving circuit, even if a pulse delay occurs in a clock signalϕandϕ-bar. SOLUTION: At at least in either of a scanning line or a signal line drive circuit, resisters 29 for preventing a punch-through malfunction are inserted between the outputs of D-type flip-flop inverters 21a, 21b forming a shift register 21 and the inputs of clock inverters 22b, 22d, respectively. The output signals of the inverters are delayed by these registers 29, and the punch-through malfunction of data is prevented.
