PROCESS FOR DETERMINING AND USING THE QUANTITY OF FILLING PRESS MATERIAL IN SOLID-LIQUID SEPARATION WITH A FILTER PRESS

The quantity of filling press material (7) in solid-liquid separation using a piston filter press with a press component (6) for several successive pressing cycles can be determined by observing the yield/efficiency graph. With an assumption of the position of characteristics connecting various working points in this graph and the insertion of a notional working point, it is possible to determine the changes in yield and efficiency for each pressing cycle and hence the quantities to be added in such a way that the greatest possible product of yield and efficiency can be obtained for the solid-liquid separation cycles by the preselection of free process quantities. The process allows automatic matching of the filling time to the pressability of the products. It is thus possible to supply products (7) with very different pressing properties automatically and without predetermined reference value in such a way that the best possible yield and juice production efficiency is obtained in a filter press.
