PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a load of a CPU is reduced. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a command decoder 402, which decodes a batch writing command given from the external, and a control means 403 which controls batch data writings equivalent to plural words in a display RAM based on the decoding result of the decoder 402. The means 403 controls the batch data writings equivalent to plural words in a storage means 409 based on the decoding result of the decoder 402. Thus, a CPU is relieved from the process relative to display data writing to the RAM after issuing a batch writing command. Thus, the load of the CPU is reduced after a batch writing command is issued.
