<p>A collapsible filter element (2, 10, 20, 50, 40) for an embolic protection device comprises a filter body which has a relatively stiff portion (3) and a relatively soft portion (5) for engaging a vessel wall. The proximal and/or distal ends (3, 4) may be the stiff portion to provide enhanced web strength. To cater for a range of vessel sizes the filter body may have corrugations or ribs (46, 51).</p> |
