PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost 3-phase split boost converter which has a high power factor while the THD of an input current is lowered. SOLUTION: A 3-phase split boost converter has a main stage and an auxiliary stage. The main stage has main boost switches S1 and S2 and a main rectifier 330. The auxiliary stage has auxiliary boost inductors Lia, Lib and Lic and an auxiliary boost network 340 placed between the auxiliary boost inductors and an output circuit. The auxiliary boost network 340 has an auxiliary 3-phase full-wave rectifier 350, auxiliary boost diodes Db2 and Db3 and auxiliary boost switches S3 and S4. The auxiliary boost switches S3 and S4 are connected between the auxiliary 3-phase full-wave rectifier 350 and the auxiliary boost diodes Db2 and Db3, and turn on currents applied to the auxiliary boost inductors Lia, Lib and Lic to reduce the THD.
