PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely engage supplied wood waste with the overlapped part of rotary blades. SOLUTION: A material introducing guide 6 of a shredding device 1 has an energizing means 23 in the neighborhood 21d of the lower end of a guide plate 21 of which the upper end 21a is rotatably supported on one side surface inside a charging container 2 by a hinge 22. The energizing means 23 energizes the neighborhood 21d of the lower end of the guide plate 21 by elastic force in the direction where the lower end 21b of the guide plate 21 moves to an overlapped part 12 side. Moreover, the material introducing guide 6 is equipped with a protrusion 26, which positions the neighborhood 21d of the lower end of the guide plate 21 against the energizing force of the energizing means 23 and stops the lower end 21d of the guide plate 21 at a prescribed position so as not to enter into the overlapped part 12.
