PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain dubbing without interruption of data independently of a difference in the recording format between recording media even though an error is generated during the dubbing. SOLUTION: A cluster is a minimum recording unit of an MD and consists of plural compression units (sound groups). For instance, when an error is generated in the process of recording the sound group 27 of the cluster 3, dubbing is once stopped. The synchronizing signal for every sub-code frame (unit of access) is detected by a CD, and the reproduction is restarted from, e.g. the sub-code frame preceding the error occurrence position by two frames, and the new compression data are produced. The new compression data and the compression data of the claster 3 already stored in a buffer memory are verified by an MD recording/reproducing system. Then, the buffer memory is rewritten from the sound group 27 wherein the error is generated. After that, the recording operation is restarted at the head of the cluster 3. |
