PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable focus detection at a low cost with a wide visual field, to sufficiently secure received light quantity, to improve an S/N, and to improve the accuracy of focus detection. SOLUTION: As to this focus detector; a condenser lens 41 is arranged in the vicinity of the scheduled focal point surface of a photographing lens 11, and a brightness diaphragm 42 having a pair of aperture parts 42a and 42b is arranged behind the lens 41. Besides, telecentric type image-reforming lenses 43a and 43b are arranged behind the diaphragm 42. A light beam from an image formed by a luminous flux passing through the lenses 43a and 43b is received by an image pickup device 21 including a photoelectric converter group. |
