PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which prevents the change of a coating liquid for a charge transfer layer with lapse of time and has excellent electrostatic charge stability. SOLUTION: This process for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor is a process for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor by applying an under-coating layer, a charge generating layer and the charge transfer layer on a conductive substrate, in which the pH of an extraction liquid is in a range of 5 to 8 when the coating liquid for the charge transfer layer is extracted with distilled water having a pH in a range of 7±0.5 and the charge transfer layer is formed by using the coating liquid. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is produced by the above described method.
