PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover oil floating on the sea without scattering by providing columnar floats, a coupling means for coupling the floats together and a front face plate. SOLUTION: Square columnar floats 1 are arranged in parallel to each other, and the floats are coupled together with a hinge 2. Also, a positioning guide pin 3 is projected out at one end of a float 1, thereby making the attachment of the front face plate 5 easier. And front face plates 5 connected together with a flexible member 6 are attached to one end of the float 1. Thus, the attachment of the front face plate 5 to the float 1 can be done by fitting a guide pin 3 to a corresponding hole in the front face plate and driving a wedge to a through-hole provided at the side face of a pin 3. When the floats 1 are connected together on the sea in a coupling state as stated above, they indicate excellent flexibility on the normal plane by following the waves in up and down motion. On the other hand, with respect to the lateral motion, they do not follow up and move as a two-dimensional deformation type capable of holding a state of straight line. In this way, an angle smaller than a certain value is held relative to the inflow direction of the oil and an excellent oil collecting performance can be obtained.
