PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dielectric composition, which exhibits superior resistance to reduction, when the composition is baked and has a stable temperature characteristic of capacitance over a wide range from a low-frequency region up a high-frequency region. SOLUTION: A dielectric composition contains at least the main component composed of an oxide satisfying the relation (La2O3)m.2(TiO2) (where 0.99<=m<=1.10), SiO2 at a rate of 2.5-35 mol% with respect to 100 mol% oxide, and V oxide and/or a compound which becomes V oxide when baked, at a rate of 0.005-0.9 mol% (V2O5 equivalent) with respect to 100 mol% oxide.
