摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device adopting an alternating deflection system by which on-screen display can be made during display of half luminance. SOLUTION: A synthesizer 3 outputs a video signal VS for a video display period according to a display control signal YC outputted from a control signal synthesizer 10, a microcomputer 2 synthesizes a graphic signal GS set to a black level with the video signal VS to output the video signal with low luminance for a period of half luminance display but outputs the graphic signal GS for the period of on-screen display. A display signal inverter 4 inverts a display signal corresponding to a return path scanning among the received display signals on a time base, outputs the result to a CRT 5 and conducts on-screen display for the display of half luminance by using the alternating deflection system.
