PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent photographing from being unable to continue due to the voltage of a battery power supply for an image processing unit reaching low voltage level during flash charging. SOLUTION: This image processing unit records a photographed still image and/or dynamic image to recording media 200, 210. The image processing unit is provided with an image pickup section 14, that is operated in a 1st charge storage mode where charges are stored without exposing a photoelectric conversion section and in a 2nd charge storage mode, where changes are stored by exposing the photoelectric conversion section, a lighting section 48 that lights an object when photographing in the 2nd charge storage mode, a power supply section 86 that supplies a prescribed current at least to the image pickup section 14 and to the lighting section 48, and a control section 50 that inhibits charge storage in the 1st charge storage mode, when a charging current is supplied to the lighting section 48.
