PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a long lens section of an optical system with a simple operation and configuration in a non-photographing state. SOLUTION: The camcorder is provided with a monitor/recording section 1 that incorporates a recording section recording information on a recording medium and a monitor section consisting of a liquid crystal display device or the like and is formed to be a box and with a camera section 2 that is turnably fitted to the side of the monitor/recording section 1 via a 1st turning mechanism 4. In this case, the lens section 3 provided to the camera section 2 is turnably fitted to the inner face of the camera section 2 via a 2nd turning mechanism 5, placed so that its optical axis direction is perpendicular to the turning axis direction of the 2nd turning mechanism 5 and the lens section 3 is contained in the camera section 2 in a non-photographing state.
