PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the drive device of a motor-driven vehicle which can suppress hitting noise of a dog-type speed changing mechanism and release a user from discomfort, even if a relatively large clearance exists between a dog nail and a dog hole. SOLUTION: The drive device of a motor-driven vehicle has a drive mechanism, which transmits the rotation of a driving motor 50 to rear wheels 17 via a dog-clutch type speed changing mechanism 43 constructed so as to insert/ drawn a dog nail into/from a dog hole, and a control unit 18 which functions as a motor control means which controls a current supplied to the motor 50 according to operation conditions, such as throttle opening rate, motor revolutions, etc. In an operation region in which the motor revolutions are not less than a prescribed value, a current not less than a no-load current with which the dog nail and dog hole are brought into contact with each other in the direction of rotation torque transmission is always supplied to the motor 50 by the motor control means 18.
