PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase driving force of a movement member by converting part of force of no use for driving the moving member to effective force for driving the moving member and increase efficiency in power usage. SOLUTION: A stator 10 of an oscillation-type linear actuator is made up of a U-shaped core 13 and an excitation coil 12 wound thereon. Both end faces of the core 13 are magnetic poles 11a and 11b. A movement member 20 includes a permanent magnet 22 with one pole extending to both the magnet poles 11a and 11b, while the other pole of the permanent magnet 22 is joined with a yoke 23. The yoke 23 has magnetic poles 21a and 21b on both sides of the permanent magnet 22. In this case, the magnetic poles 11a, 11b, 21a, and 21b each has face 14a, 14b, 24a or 24b the more slanted toward the stator 10 is, the farther away it is from the permanent magnet 22, in the movement direction of the movable member 20. A component of force in a movement direction of the moving member 20 is generated by a magnetic force between the moving member 20 and the stator 10 via the slanted faces 14a, 14b, 24a, and 24b.
