PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the minute flow rate of gas flowing in a channel. SOLUTION: In an ultrasonic type gas meter 1, even if the flow rate of gas G flowing in a channel 5 is small, the gas G passes through an opening part 8 without being subjected to passing resistance, and crosses an ultrasonic path 6 for flowing when the gas G passes through a gas-passing material 7, thus accurately obtaining lapse time from alternate transmission to reception of an ultrasonic wave by ultrasonic sensors US1 and US2, and hence accurately measuring the flow rate of the gas G being obtained based on the lapse time.
