PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display data of a radio broadcasting program through the means of a frequency, having the best signal quality by obtaining an identifying number and the signal quality of the radio broadcasting program to be transmitted by means of a plurality of frequencies from the radio signal and selecting a carrier wave signal with which best signal quality is obtained. SOLUTION: A succeeding carrier wave signal is selected for every radio broadcasting program. When a test symbol is detected at that time, the frequency is changed into the selected substitutive frequency. When the signal level of the test symbol in the carrier wave signal exceeds upward a threshold and synchronization is effectively executed, the identifying number is decoded. When the identifying number corresponds to the radio broadcasting program which is selected by a user, the carrier wave signal is stored as an alternative carrier wave signal. While the signal quality of a data stream which belongs to the stored carrier wave signal is satisfactory than that of the data stream to be used for displaying the radio broadcasting program at that time, the test symbol is changed into the carrier wave signal.
