PURPOSE: An interface apparatus and method between test devices of an SLMONS(Subscriber Line Maintenance Operation System)/LCR/DELMONS(DEdicated Line Maintenance and Operation System) and a COT(Central Office Terminal) is provided to perform interlock between test devices of the SLMONS/LCR/DELMONS and the COT and perform the test of the COT through the SLMONS/LCR/DELMONS. CONSTITUTION: An external communication process unit(110) has two ports for connecting to an SLMONS/LCR/DELMONS, and transmits and receives a signal for requesting the test of a line, command data, and result data. An IPC(Inter Processor Communication) process unit(115) transmits and receives various signals according to the test of the line with a control unit of a COT located in an office station using IPC data. A signal process unit(114) decodes data received from the external communication process unit(110) or the IPC process unit(115), adjusts an interrupt signal, and monitors the operation of each element. A control unit(111) controls a switching operation for selecting the data ports of the external communication process unit(110), the process operation of each signal according to the line test, and the operation of each process unit. A memory unit(112) stores control data of the control unit(111) and data generated when performing the control operation. An RTC(Real Time Clock)(113) provides accurate time data to each unit.
