PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information terminal that can decrease a memory share in the terminal by reducing a storage capacity of the terminal having shared a still picture after transmitting the still picture to an opposite terminal. SOLUTION: This information terminal discriminates whether or not a photographed still picture is sent to other terminal depending on the selection of a user (S16). When the user transmits the still picture, the user transmits the still picture with an identification ID added thereto to the opposite terminal (S17). When the transmission is finished, a compression and decompression circuit 15 decompresses still picture data in a same flush ROM 23 in which the transmitted still picture has been stored and transfers the decompressed data to a display memory 10. In this case, the size of the decompressed picture is reduced longitudinally and laterally at a multiple of 1/4 through simple interleaving so as to reduce the information quantity into a size of 160×120 dots. The compression and decompression circuit 15 applies again JPEG compression to the reduced image and the flush ROM 23 stores the compressed image (S19).
