plastic metal working, namely manufacture of annular blanks by hot forging. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily heating blank, placing it to die set, arranging die set in isothermic bath and placing blank in upper annular die onto stop; performing crosswise pressing out of blank until its necessary size limited by means of lower annular die; cutting pressed out metal and simultaneously reducing blank. Apparatus for performing the method includes die set with lower die and punch and is also includes upper die and annular cutting blade. Lower die has inner thickened portion whose diameter corresponds to outer diameter value of annular part to be forged. Inside lower die stop is mounted with gap. Die set is arranged in isothermic bath. EFFECT: lowered waste quantity, enlarged dimension range of forged annular blanks. 2 cl, 4 dwg
