PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily focus on a subject by simple constitution by providing a color filter at the opening of a light shielding part or in the neighborhood of it in a focal point detector provided with an image forming optical system and the light shielding part provided with the opening at a position symmetrical with respect to the optical axis of the image forming optical system. SOLUTION: Plural selectable openings 301a to 301d of different sizes corresponding to an incident light quantity and openings 302a, 302b and 303a, 303b for auto-focusing(AF) by dividing (pupil division) an incident luminous flux, having openings at positions vertically or right/left symmetrical with respect to an optical axis are arranged on a diaphragm 102 for shielding a luminous flux. Then, a color filter having a color equal to that of the filter of an image pickup element or a color complementary to it is installed at these openings 302a, 302b and 303a, 303b for auto-focusing(AF) by pupil division. Thus, a luminous flux entering the image pickup element can be divided into luminous fluxes corresponding to the color of the color filter, thereby focusing is accelerated by making the openings and the luminous fluxes unitarily correspond to each other. |
