PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To watch an image on a date while setting the date by displaying the image and attached information such as the date of the image on a display device and retrieving whether or not a set required date exists in a database in a storage device by operating an input device. SOLUTION: When retrieval is performed with the date and hour set, date and hour retrieval is selected, when retrieval is executed by thumbnail display, thumbnail retrieval is selected, and when retrieval from list display is carried out, the preceding retrieval execution is selected respectively. After setting the date and hour, a central operation storage device (CPU) 101 retrieves whether or not image data at the date and hour exist in a database in a storage device 106. When the image data exist at the set date and hour, the image data are sent to the CPU 101 from the database, and an image and the date are displayed on a display device 108. When the image data do not exist at the set date and hour, information that the image data do not exist is sent to the CPU 101.
