PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively install this antenna at a position where the antenna can satisfactorily receive radio waves by providing a flat-panel antenna element provided on a plane along the surface of a substrate in a planar manner and further providing a decorative body that is independent of the antenna on another plane. SOLUTION: This flat-panel antenna 1 has a substrate 2, which is made, e.g. of a dielectric of a flat plate shape and has surfaces 2a and 2b that face each other. An antenna element, e.g. a planar antenna pattern 4, is formed and adhered onto the surface 2a. A coating layer 6 is formed over the entire area of the surface 2a of the substrate 2 so as to come into contact with and cover the entire antenna pattern 4. The decorative body such as printing is applied to the surface 2b side of the substrate 2, the printing 18 is composed of characters, diagrams or the combination of them, and the contents expressed by the printing 18 are unrelated to the antenna. The printing 18 is formed not on the entire surface 2b but on the central part of the surface 2b so as to occupy a relatively large part of the surface 2b.
