PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet with which the peak direction of rays passing the sheet can be made upward without increasing a light-diffusing function, and to provide a back light unit using that sheet. SOLUTION: The sheet comprises a transparent synthetic resin base layer 2 and has specified optical characteristics. The base layer 2 consists of materials A, B of different kinds alternately arranged.
