PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease consumption of expendables attended with a transmission error to the utmost in the case that both an error report output function and a remote transmission function are in use. SOLUTION: The facsimile equipment is provided with a function of outputting a transmission error report with an image that reproduces data on the occurrence of an error at data transmission and with a remote transmission function that transmits data requested to a destination in the case of a read request of prescribed data stored in a RAM 3 from the destination. In the case of sending the data in the RAM 3 to the destination on the basis of the remote transmission function, a CPU 1 detects whether or not a transmission error is in existence. When the CPU 1 detects the presence of the transmission error, a recording section 12 outputs a transmission error report without attaching an image to the report.
