PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device that can reduce the number of parts in a lighting circuit and enhance the mounting workability. SOLUTION: A lighting device comprises a reflector 1, a housing 2, a discharge tube 3, an igniter 4, a lighting circuit 5 including an inverter, and a socket 6. At least one of the ignitor 4 and the lighting circuit 5 is disposed within the socket 6, the discharge tube 3 is secured to the socket 6. The socket 6 is secured to the reflector 1, and the discharge tube 3 is housed in the reflector 1.
