PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, from which a proper display image can always be obtained, independently of the difference in the color temperatures of an external light. SOLUTION: A system control function section 251 uses a signal from a lighting window open/close detection switch 30, to discriminate whether a lighting window is open. When the lighting window is closed, that is when a backlight 20 is used as a display light source, the system control function section 251 displays photographed image data onto a TFT panel 19, without applying specific correction to the photographed image data. However, when the lighting window is open, that is when the external light is received as the display light source, the system control function section 251 detects the present color characteristic of the external light, on the basis of white balance information obtained immediately preceding the photographing operation, executes color correction processing of the photographed image data based on it and then displays the photographed data after the correction on the TFT panel 19.
