PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring camera system that cam monitor an object in more details than a conventional system. SOLUTION: A controller 5 outputs image data outputted from a camera 2 to an ECR 7, without having to convert the digital data. The ECR 7 outputs the image data received from the controller 5 onto a display device 11. Furthermore, the ECR 7 transmits the digital image data received from the controller 5 to the host computer 10 of a POS system 6 and a display device 17 displays the data. The ECR 7 is provided with keys to control the controller 5. The keys are connected to the controller 5 and by operating the keys, the controller 5 is controlled so as to set the video recording mode of a VTR 4 to a high- definition mode or the like.
