PURPOSE: An advertising method using a download window based on a web server is provided to enhance an advertising effects by displaying an advertisement on upper or lower portion of a window displaying a process of a download. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a web site(S101). The web site transmits a web page including a homepage(S102). The user may download a file or a program by clicking a button on the web page(S103). The web server detects whether a plug-in program capable of displaying an advertisement exists during downloading a file or a program(S104, S105). If the plug-in program does not exist, a guide for installing the plug-in program is transmitted to the user(S110)(S120). In addition, the web server transmits the file or the program to the user(S123). A user computer displays a screen displaying process of a download of the file or the program having the advertisement(S124).
