PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain solid wadding readily moldable even in an indeterminate form and an extra thick cushioning material and to provide a method for producing the solid wadding. SOLUTION: This wadding is characterized in that sliver chips having a columnar shape in which constituent fibers containing a binder fiber are paralleled in the length direction of the fibers and the constituent fibers mutually retain their shape by softening or melting of a binder component are mutually bonded and integrated.
