PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box body opening/closing device constituted to easily attach and detach the tip part of a cord of an air damper. SOLUTION: In this opening/closing device constituted to rotatably journal a box body B to the support structure body side and to control the opening/ closing motion of the box body B by a cord type air damper 10, the front face side of the box body B is composed of an outer member 1 and an inner member 3, and the air damper 10 is installed in a space partitioned between both members 1, 3. Further, a tip part 14a of a cord 14 connected to a piston of the air damper 10 is fixed to the support structure body side. The air damper 10 is thereby installed on the front face side of the box body B, so that the tip part 14a of the cord 14 of the air damper 10 can be fixed as close as possible to the front side of the support structure body, and when detaching the box body B for maintenance or the like, the tip part 14A of the cord 14 can be very easily attached to and detached from the support structure body.
