PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reducing method of dross in a galvanizing bath causing a dross defect damaging the outward appearance of a surface, and a device therefor. SOLUTION: When a galvanizing treatment is applied on the surface of a steel sheet by continuously introducing the steel sheet into the galvanizing bath containing 0.05-0.20 mass % aluminum, a zinc ingot satisfying formula (1) shorn below and the balance zinc with impurities, is charged into the galvanizing bath to supply zinc and aluminum into the galvanizing bath, and the produced dross is removed. The charging part of the zinc ingot is surrounded with a shield plate, and it is desirable to remove the dross floated up to the upper part in the inside of the surroung plate and that piled on the bottom part. This method can easily be applied with a device having the shield plate 8 or a filter 9 surrounding the charging part of the zinc ingot in the galvanizing bath.
