PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly output a noise signal of desired characteristics in an initial operation of a noise generator. SOLUTION: The noise generator is provided with a white noise generation means 21 to generate the digital white noise signals, a filter part 25 which has a digital filter to shift and store in sequence the digital signals to a plurality of internal storage elements and performs a product-sum operation about the storage contents of the storage elements, converts the noise signals outputted from the means 21 into the noise signals of frequency characteristics corresponding to the characteristic coefficients that are previously set and outputs the converted noise signals, a characteristic coefficient setting means 30 which sets an optional characteristic coefficient to the part 25 and an initialization setting means 31 which initializes a noise signal string equivalent to the storage contents of every storage element of the digital filter to the storage element of the digital filter at least in an initial operation of the noise generator and while the noise signals of frequency characteristics corresponding to the characteristic coefficients are being outputted from the part 25.
