PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle travel position detecting device which can detects abnormality of a guide signal detected by a sensor in such a case and correct the abnormality of the signal. SOLUTION: This vehicle travel position detecting device detects the current travel position by detecting the signal from a guide cable embedded along a guide path and has sensors 3R and 3L which detects the signal from the guide cable, an abnormal signal detection part 4 which detects the abnormality of the signal from the guide cable, and an abnormal signal correction part 5 which corrects the guide signal according to the output result of the abnormal signal detection part 4.
