PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide video image distribution system that eliminates the need for a controller, for exclusively controlling the system such as a conventional system and can continue a tentative system operation, even when the communication system is interrupted on the way. SOLUTION: The system is provided with n-sets of display devices #i (i=1-n), having both a master function controlling the entire system and a slave function under the control of the master function, and a communication means 11 that interconnects the display devices #i through daisy chain connection and transfers control information among the display devicesξi. Each display deviceξi is provided with a discrimination means 12, that discriminates whether each display device acts like a master or a slave on the basis of whether the display deviceξi is placed at an uppermost end, a lowermost end or other position than the uppermost end and the lowermost end. The display devicesξi connected to the uppermost end or the lowermost end of the communication means 11 are used for the master, and the display devicesξi connected to other positions than the uppermost end or the lowermost end of the communication means 11 are used for the slave.
