PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal which can show traffic restriction contents to attain safe traffic guidance when the traffic restriction is necessary due to road construction, etc. SOLUTION: When the signals are displayed for traffic guidance of a road where the traffic is restricted, a traffic signal 1 shows the restriction contents, etc., via an information display unit 40 and then shows the passing permission/ inhibition via a two-position signal 50. When the passing of vehicles is permitted, the passing is indicated by an arrow-shaped LED display unit 71. Meanwhile, the route of passing vehicles is intercepted by a crossing gate 60 when the passing of vehicles is inhibited respectively. As a result, both traffic restriction contents and signal display can be simultaneously confirmed by the unit 40 an the signal 50 and the passing/stopping instructions are surely given to the vehicle drivers via the gate 60 and unit 71 for improving safety in a traffic guidance section. Furthermore, the display contents are inputted and selected by a input device to show the traffic restriction contents, thereby improves the construction work efficiency.
