PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new-model reciprocation internal combustion engine reducing a secondary vibration component to a crankshaft rotation synchronization without increasing the engine whole height. SOLUTION: This reciprocating internal combustion engine is provided with an upper link 5 connected to a piston pin 7 of a piston 8, a lower link 4 connecting the upper link 5 to a crank pin 3 of a crankshaft 1, and a control link (third link) 10 having the lower and side swingably supported to a control shaft 12 of the engine body side and the upper end side connected to the lower link 4. Compared with the other reciprocating internal combustion engine formed by connecting the piston pin and the crank pin by a single link, this reciprocating internal combustion engine is characterized that the amplitude of the rotation secondary vibration component of the piston movement is small while providing the same piston stroke and cylinder height.
