PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a difference point detection support device for a subtree structure which supports the detection of a difference point to be converted by making data representing the subtree structure into a character string according to a specific rule and moving a terminal or reconnecting a branch. SOLUTION: The difference point detection supporting device for the subtree has a terminal detecting means which detects a terminal belonging to only one subtree structure, a grouping means which groups branch structures connecting terminals by the same connecting means among terminals belonging to two kinds of subtree structures except terminals detected by the detecting means into one, a character converting means which converts the branch structures grouped by the grouping means into a hierarchically shown character string, and an extracting means which compares the two kinds of subtree structures after removing combinations of terminals or groups from two kinds of character strings converted by the character string converting means to extract all combinations of difference points between the two kinds of subtree structures.
