PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive dot line printer good in performance. SOLUTION: In the shuttle mechanism of the dot line printer, the angular velocity in one stroke of a hammer bank is controlled so as to be suddenly increased at a time of the reversal of a shuttle, suddenly decreased after reversal and decreased in a printing range.
