PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image sensor which outputs a logarithmicconverted signal according to an incident light quantity and has an image sensible brightness range narrowed according to the brightness distribution of an object. SOLUTION: The drain and the gate of a MOS transistor T1 are connected to the anode of a photo diode PD with a d-c voltage VPD applied to its cathode, and the drain and the gate of a MOS transistor T3 are connected to the source of the MOS transistor T1. Thus, connected MOS transistors T1, T3 are operated in their respective sub-threshold ranges to narrow the dynamic range of pixels.
